As members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), we believe that God is calling us into the world – together. And with generous, loving hands, we can make a difference.
ELCA Good Gifts go beyond your regular congregational offering to support the ministries of the ELCA that mean the most to you and your loved ones. Together, we can do more than we ever could alone, making a huge collective impact on the needs of our church and the world.
Step 1 – Choose your gift
Browse the catalog for more than 50 gift-giving options. Choose the gifts that mean the most to you, or choose gifts to give in honor of friends and family.
Step 2 – Announce your gift
If your gift is in honor of a friend or loved one, it’s easy to tell them about it! Visit www.ELCA.org/goodgifts/print a card for a selection of printable cards. Give online or through the mail and you may request that a printed card for each of your gifts be mailed to your home. Please allow two weeks for delivery when ordering online, and three weeks for delivery when ordering through the mail.
Step 3 – Where your money goes
The ELCA’s approach to ministry starts with listening. After our congregations and global companions identify local needs, we partner with them as they develop local solutions. As a long-standing, unwavering presence in nearly 90 countries, including the United States, we steer clear of “one-size-fits-all” answers and have enormous respect for local context, local expertise and local ingenuity.
We are good stewards of your resources, holding administrative costs at less than 10 percent – among the lowest of other organizations doing similar work.
The items in this catalog are examples of work being done in projects and programs supported by funds from the ELCA. Your gifts will be combined with the gifts of others to fund areas of work related to your selection (e.g. international emergencies, health care, sustainable development, etc.) so that your donation has the greatest impact. In order to honor your generosity and keep administrative costs low, the ELCA does not track individual financial gifts to specific families or locations in the United States or abroad.
Step 4 – How you help
Your gift reflects God’s love, making a difference in people’s lives and around the world. Your donations support long-term, sustainable solutions that ensure that these good gifts last for more than a couple days or weeks. They keep on giving for years to come.
