See,
the former things have come to pass,
and new things I now declare;
before they spring forth,
I tell you of them.

Together
in Christ: Re-root, Re-image, Re-create
The focus of this year's event will be learning about a renewable
way of working as God's people in the world. Focusing on a mix of
theological ideas and practical applications, Dave Daubert and Kelly
Fryer will spend three days walking with us to help us reclaim who
we are, see what we have, and do what matters most to God. Using a
mix of plenary sessions, interactive exercises, and workshops we'll
explore the foundations of a way of working that joins WITH God rather
than going out on behalf of God. We'll learn the tools needed to accurately
see what we have to work with. We'll spend time thinking about what
matters most to God and how we can help the church align its work
with that in ways that make a difference. Whether you work in a congregation
or in some other ministry setting, working in a renewable way overcomes
many of the struggles we find confronting us and frees us up to lead
boldly, equip and invite others to join in the work, mobilizes the
church to join in partnerships with God and other who are up to what
matters, and helps us move beyond counting people and money as our
only measures of success. This event will be positive, challenging
and hopeful in tone and help you think about and do what matters in
new and life-giving ways.

Kelly
Fryer (M.Div., MTh) is an entrepreneur who brings her work as
a small business owner, environmental activist, high school teacher,
and redevelopment pastor to renewing organizations. Kelly is on the
faculty of the Nonprofit Management Graduate Program at Spertus College,
teaches courses in leadership at the Lutheran School of Theology in
Chicago, and is in demand as a keynote speaker across the U.S. and

a dozen books, articles, and resources that are being used by congregational
leaders across the US and Canada, including No Experience Necessary:
Everybody's Welcome (2005), and Reclaiming the C Word: Daring to Be
Church Again (2006). You will appreciate her casual style, humor and
wit! Kelly was one of the scribes on ARE's latest book Seeing Through
