As part of the Pacifica Synod’s dedication to providing lifelong learning opportunities for the lay person, the program Preparing Adult Lay Leaders for Mission and Ministry (PALLMM) actively promotes and sponsors regular learning events and conferences. These will be for some a new and fresh experience and a continuing education time for others. For every participant, the events will be a motivating time of learning and enrichment. Many conferences are national programs that PALLMM co-sponsors. For some of these, the Western Cluster seminaries participate in building the events. Luther Seminary will be bringing the Centered Life initiative to the Pacifica Synod through PALLMM. It helps the lay person answer the question, “How can my faith in Jesus Christ become more relevant in my daily life-at my job, in my home, and in my community?” These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to meet, learn, and discuss the ways the lay person can become more involved in the church, their community, and the world. It is a great time to renew old relationships and make new contacts. The lay learner can come together with other interested people to spend a short but intense time of learning and fellowship that can be taken back to their home and congregation. | |||||||||
