ASSEMBLY RESOLUTIONS AND MEMORIALS


05-1 A Renewed Vision for Missionary Sponsorship in the Pacifica Synod passed.

05-2A, 05-2B, 05-2C Response to Recommendations from the Task Force for ELCA Studies on Sexuality tabled Indefinitely.

05-3 The Gamaliel Option tabled Indefinitely.

05-4 Renewed Study of 1991 Social Statement on Abortion and Related Issues passed.

05-5 Regarding Refugees, Asylum Seekers and Immigrants was not acted upon because we ran out of time. It automatically goes to Synod Council.

The following resolutions were submitted by the Synod Council.

Resolution receiving with joy two congregations new to the Synod, Spirit of Peace L.C. in Big Bear City and Redeemer L.C. in Chino by unanimous acclamation.

Compensation Guidelines for Rostered Leaders of the Pacifica Synod passed.

Increased Support for Augsburg Fortress passed.

Pacifica Synod 2007 Assembly in Hawaii passed.

Proposed Changes to the Pacifica Synod Constitution/Bylaws presented for review and action to be taken at the 2006 Pacifica Synod Assembly.

Memorial to 2005 ELCA Churchwide Assembly Regarding the ELCA Church Council’s Sexuality Recommendations for the Churchwide Assembly.
