Mary Preus is a singer, songleader and choir director, currently directing music at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Tom Witt has been keyboardist, worship leader, songleader for a wide variety of Lutheran and ecumenical church events. He has a depth of resources in worship planning and leads workshops on music, liturgy and contemporary society. Tom serves as a worship and music consultant for the ELCA's Division for Global Mission. He is a cofounder and currently serves as staff for Bread for the Journey, a musical and worship-leading ensemble. He has released a recording of his own instrumental improvisations on hymns in the Lutheran Book of Worship, entitled Dusting Off the Green Book.

Each spring the Pacifica Synod, as do all the synods of the ELCA, gathers in Assembly to uplift and celebrate ministries and address the issues facing the leaders, congregations and agencies within the synod. Issues are discussed, workshops are offered and elections are held. We worship, talk and learn together. The Assembly hears, discusses and votes on resolutions. Resolutions are a tool we use to talk to each other and to make decisions about how we will live out our call to serve God and the world. Assembly is how we govern ourselves, how we set direction for our Synod Council and synod staff, our congregations and our conferences. Assembly is how we walk together in service to God.
